Water Heaters
Atmospheric Vent Gas Water Heater
Atmospheric Vent Gas Water Heater
The Atmospheric Vent is an entry-level gas heater. Air is drawn from inside the home and the exhaust is vented into a chimney or through the roof. The Atmospheric Vent water heater features the Flame Guard® Safety System, which reduces the risk of accidental fires involving flammable vapours from products such as gasoline, paint thinner or solvents.
Product Features:
- Tank is glass-lined to provide superior protection against the corrosive effects of hot water
- Heavy-duty anode rod for additional tank protection
- Turbulator dip tube reduces sediment build-up at the bottom of the tank to prolong tank life
- Piezoelectric ignitor lets you light the pilot without matches
- Thermopile system provides a robust pilot to withstand environmental conditions such as down drafts
- LED indicator gives visual confirmation that the pilot is on, and provides diagnostics and troubleshooting information
- Thermostat allows for easy temperature adjustments
- Maintenance is simple with an easy-to-access combustion chamber and conveniently located drain valve
Atmospheric Vent Gas Water Heater
Power Vent Gas Water Heater
A Power Vent heater is used when conventional chimney venting is not an option. Air is drawn from inside the home while a rotatable motorized blower forces the exhaust outside. The GSW ENERGY STAR®Qualified Power Vent heater is a very energy efficient heater which saves you money on energy costs and it’s more environmentally friendly.
Product Features:
- ENERGY STAR® qualified (except 60 & 75 gallon models) with up to a 0.70 Energy Factor
- Factory-installed heat traps on the water inlet and outlet reduces the amount of heat lost through piping, improving energy efficiency
- Exclusive TankSaver® design prolongs tank life
- Robust air intake snorkel inhibits flammable vapours from entering the combustion chamber
- Sensor detects flammable vapours and automatically disables the unit to prevent their ignition
- Ideal as a replacement water heater in a variety of applications due the 3-position rotatable blower
- State-of-the-art electronic gas control features advanced self-diagnostic capability that makes troubleshooting easy
- Flexible venting options: it can be vented with 2”, 3” or 4” ULC S636 PVC, CPVC or polypropylene pipe up to 180 equivalent feet (see installation manual for full details)
Tankless Water Heaters
Tankless Water Heaters
Condensing Tankless Gas Water Heater
Tankless water heaters operate differently than traditional heaters as they only heat water when it is needed instead of storing it. Condensing tankless heaters use a secondary heat exchanger that uses exhaust to pre-heat the water before it reaches the primary exchanger resulting in higher efficiencies. The GSW powered by Takagi condensing tankless water heaters are state-of-the-art and are ENERGY STAR®Qualified with an Energy Factor of 0.95.
Product Features:
- Power direct vent design
- Primary heat exchanger is constructed of commercial-grade copper which is more resilient against erosion
- Secondary heat exchanger is made of Type 316L Stainless Steel to protect against corrosion
- Flexible venting as ULC S636 approved PVC, CPVC, polypropylene pipe or Category III/IV stainless steel venting can be used
- Internal freeze protection and multiple safety features
- Can be used in residential hydronic heating applications
- Takes up significantly less space than a tank-type water heater
- Electronic ignition means there is no pilot light
- Industry-leading 15-year heat exchanger warranty when used in residential applications
- Save money on energy costs since there is no standby heat loss
